Zapcode FAQs
I get the message 'Error 19:
Cannot find the Licence file.
This means that you have
either not registered the software yet or your existing licence file has been deleted. If
you have not yet registered Zapcode you will need to contact Capscan's administration
department to obtain a user key. If you have a valid user key, run the product
registration application and re-enter the key to create the licence file.
I get the message 'Error 23:
The date Zapcode was last run is greater than the current system date.
This means that the date on
the computer has either been set to a date prior to the last time Zapcode was run. Check
that the date on the machine is correct and then run the readlic32.exe application, which
will give you details of when Zapcode was last run.
I get the message 'Error 24:
The Zapcode Licence file has expired.'
You will need to contact
Capscan's administration department to purchase a new user key.
I get the message 'Error 7:
The file AREA.IDX could not be found at the location specified, or could not be read.'
The path to the folder
containing the data files is either wrong or the data files have become unreadable. Make
sure the path to the data files is correct and all of the required files are present. Also
check that the permission on the files are set to read/write. If you still get the error
after checking the path and permissions try uninstalling and re-installing Zapcode.
When I search on a postcode
the correct street, town and county are returned but the postcode is different.
This is because the
postcode has been changed by the Royal Mail.
When using Zapcode for
GoldMine with GoldMine 4, the third address line within Zapcode is disabled.
The third address line in
Zapcode will be disabled because GoldMine 4 only uses two address lines.
How do I get Zapcode For
GoldMine to run automatically when I add or update a contact record.
To get Zapcode to run when
adding or updating a contact record in GoldMine you will need to create a lookup.ini file,
which is used by GoldMine to run third party applications. Details on how to create this
file can be found in the Zapcode online help under 'Configuring GoldMine'.
